Jumping into the arena of professionalism, every work is sophisticated. Maintaining a house is simplistic but a large commercial hotel is really gigantic. Every task needs a vast knowledge and professional skill. The aesthetic upkeep of room, knowledge of Interior designing, Skill of flower arrangement, Knowledge of lighting etc….
Housekeeping is a nerve centre of the hotel or we can say that housekeeping is the more revenue generated department of the hotel, it gives hygienic standard to the hotel. Housekeeping is necessary in the entire departments of the Hotel i.e., Food production, Food and Beverage, Front Office etc.
A quick glance around your lobby confirms it: your hotel is sparkling clean. The front door glimmers; the receptionist wears a bright smile and the counter gleams from the polishing it received this morning. As your transport van delivers a guest you are confident that they will find comfort in the cleanliness of your establishment. Unfortunately their eyes never see the glimmering doors let alone appreciate the warm reception offered by the receptionist. Those efforts were lost the minute they saw your transport van at they airport and noticed the dull lettering on its side and the stained carpet and scarred and ripped leather of its interior. The promise they read in the travel guide book of your hotel having the city’s cleanest rooms fade on their ride from the airport.

What kind of work do people do in housekeeping in a hotel?
